If  you thought  Netflix is only rasinig up your internet bills”>internet bills, a recent report claims  that the viedo streaming services  is actually eating up a sizeable chunk of the entire internet  bandwidth, globally!

According to Sandvine’s Global internet Phenomena Report, Netflix is the number one downstream application worldwide with almost 15 % percent of  global internet traffic .In the americas the share tops 19.1  percent for total traffic ,followed by the prime viedo at 7.7 percent and youtube at 7.5 percent.

The report further reveals that netflix is also  the most efficient viedo streaming services in terms of bandwidth usage.

Following Netflix is HTTP  media streams, consuming 13.1 percent of all traffic  yootube at 11.4 percent, web browing at 7.8 percent and MPEG  transport at 4.4 percent.
