{"id":3361,"date":"2018-08-23T10:28:03","date_gmt":"2018-08-23T04:58:03","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.oyspa.com\/blog\/?p=3361"},"modified":"2018-08-23T10:28:03","modified_gmt":"2018-08-23T04:58:03","slug":"arun-jaitley-back-as-finance-minister-after-3-month","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.oyspa.com\/blog\/news\/arun-jaitley-back-as-finance-minister-after-3-month\/","title":{"rendered":"Arun Jaitley back as Finance Minister After 3-Month"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"content\">\n<p class=\"time\">President\u00a0Ram Nath Kovind on Thursday directed to assign the portfolios of the Minister of Finance and Minister of Corporate Affairs to\u00a0Arun Jaitley.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"content\">\n<p>&#8220;The\u00a0President\u00a0of India, as advised by the Prime Minister, has directed to assign the portfolios of the Minister of Finance and Minister of Corporate Affairs to Shri\u00a0Arun Jaitley,&#8221; read a statement from Rashtrapati Bhavan.<br \/>\nSince past few months, Railway Minister Piyush Goyal was looking after the\u00a0Finance Ministry\u00a0on an interim basis as Jaitley was recovering after undergoing a kidney transplant surgery.<br \/>\nGoyal was handed over the additional charge of\u00a0Finance Ministry\u00a0after Jaitley underwent the procedure at Delhi&#8217;s All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) on May 14.<br \/>\nAs interim finance minister, Goyal had chaired two meetings of the Goods and Services Tax (GST) Council.<br \/>\nIn April, Jaitley had said that he was being treated for kidney-related problems and was working from a &#8220;controlled environment&#8221; at home.<br \/>\n&#8220;I am being treated for kidney-related problems and certain infections that I have contracted. I am therefore currently working from controlled environment at home. The future course of my treatment would be determined by the doctors treating me,&#8221; he had tweeted. (ANI)<\/p>\n<p>Mr Jaitley had earlier this month\u00a0attended parliament to participating in the vote for the Deputy Chairman of Rajya Sabha.<\/p>\n<p>Mr Jaitley had a bariatric surgery soon after the BJP-led coalition came to power in 2014. The surgery was to treat weight gain that he suffered because of a long-standing diabetic condition, according to the Press Trust of India.<\/p>\n<p>Mr Jaitley has been active on social media, from taking on opposition parties to writing on issues including cuts to the goods and services tax rates.<\/p>\n<p>Mr Jaitley&#8217;s first-floor corner office in North Block has been renovated and
