Prime\u00a0Minister\u00a0Narendra\u00a0Modi\u00a0will on Saturday visit\u00a0Mumbai\u00a0to address the 56th annual convocation of\u00a0Indian Institute of Technology\u00a0(IIT)\u00a0Bombay.<\/p>\n
The\u00a0Prime\u00a0Minister\u00a0will also inaugurate the new building of the\u00a0Department of Energy Science and Engineering\u00a0and\u00a0Centre for Environmental Science and Engineering\u00a0at IIT\u00a0Bombay.<\/p>\n
Union Human Resource Development (HRD)\u00a0Minister\u00a0Prakash Javadekar,\u00a0Maharashtra Governor\u00a0Vidyasagar Rao\u00a0and\u00a0state Chief Minister\u00a0Devendra Fadnavis\u00a0will also be present on the occasion.<\/p>\n
The prime minister also said that a large number of IIT students built the information technology system in India “click-by-click”, and now, the country has become\u00a0the destination for IT development. India is emerging as a hub for startups, he said, while reminding the students that the “biggest corporations of today were the startups of yesterday<\/p>\n
Innovation and new technology will decide future direction of development, in which IITs will play an important role, he said, adding that IIT-Bombay is one of the institutions working for new technologies for a ‘New India’.<\/p>\n
“We must make India the most attractive destination for innovation and enterprise,” the prime minister said and added that this cannot happen\u00a0through government efforts alone. “The best ideas do not come in government buildings or fancy offices.
