The use of Aadhaar Card is desirable but not a must to avail benefits under the Ayushman Bharat \u2014National Health Protection Mission, the Union Health Ministry said on Thursday.<\/p>\n

\u201cAny report otherwise is factually incorrect,\u201d the ministry said.<\/p>\n

In a release, it said that the notification of the Ayushman Bharat \u2013 National Health Protection Mission being issued under Section 7 of the Aadhaar Act merely enabled the implementation agencies to ask for authentication of identity.<\/p>\n

In order to authenticate the identity of beneficiaries accurately, the use of Aadhaar card is preferable, but it is not a \u201cmust,\u201d it said.<\/p>\n

The release added that there shall be no denial of benefits for the want of Aadhaar number.<\/p>\n

Union Health Minister J.P. Nadda confirmed that \u201cwe will provide services to all eligible beneficiaries with or without Aadhaar card.\u201d<\/p>\n

The guidelines on beneficiary identification clearly state that beneficiaries can bring Aadhaar or any other valid government ID(s) if they did not have an Aadhaar card.<\/p>\n
