{"id":1733,"date":"2018-06-14T17:33:15","date_gmt":"2018-06-14T12:03:15","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.oyspa.com\/blog\/?p=1733"},"modified":"2018-06-14T17:34:18","modified_gmt":"2018-06-14T12:04:18","slug":"india-rejects-un-kashmir-report-rights-violation-fallacious","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.oyspa.com\/blog\/news\/india-rejects-un-kashmir-report-rights-violation-fallacious\/","title":{"rendered":"India rejects UN Kashmir report on rights violation as &#8216;fallacious&#8217;"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>India on Thursday rejected a UN report alleging human rights violations in\u00a0<span id=\"nic64560913\" class=\"newsincontext nic_handler\">Kashmir\u00a0+<\/span>\u00a0as &#8220;fallacious, tendentious and motivated&#8221;.<br \/>\nIn a strong reaction, the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) said the report is &#8220;overtly prejudiced&#8221; and seeks to build a &#8220;false narrative&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p>It violated the country&#8217;s sovereignty and territorial integrity, it said.<\/p>\n<p>In the report released on Thursday, the UN talked about alleged human rights violations in both Kashmir and Pakistan occupied Kashmir, and sought an international inquiry into these abuses.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;India rejects the report. It is fallacious, tendentious and motivated. We question the intent in bringing out such a report,&#8221; the MEA said.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>It added that the report is a selective compilation of largely unverified information.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;The report violates India&#8217;s sovereignty and territorial integrity. The entire state of Jammu and Kashmir is an integral part of India.
