The Canterbury Kings booked a stunning victory over the Northern Knights in Christchurch on Sunday.
Batsman Leo Carter of Canterbury Kings will enter the history books after he has defeated an astonishing six sixes in an over on Sunday’s Super Smash Twenty20 game against the Northern Knights in Christchurch.
The 25-year-old left-handed sent left arm spinner Anton Devcich for the magical 36-run mark on Hagley Oval, while his astounding attack of 70 not just 29 balls sent the hosts to an astonishing seven-wicket victory with seven balls over, behind an impressive 220 On.
The loss puts an end to the playoff hopes of the knights, but not long before they had felt pretty good about themselves after Tim Seifert’s quick 74 off 36, which included four sixes in a row on the first four balls of the left arm wrist spinner Blake Coburn.
However, Carter went not only a better one, but also two, as he repeatedly pumped former Black Cap Devcich onto Hagley Hill, to the surprise and cheers of the home crowd, who were present to witness the history – the highest successful domestic T20. – Pursuit in New Zealand, and of course the first time the six sixes in an over had been reached.
