मोदी ने इस दौरान कहा- आज असम की हमारी सरकार ने आपके जीवन की बहुत बड़ी चिंता दूर करने का काम किया है। एक लाख से ज़्यादा मूल निवासी परिवारों को भूमि के स्वामित्व का अधिकार मिलने से आपके जीवन की एक बहुत बड़ी चिंता अब दूर हो गई है।
Before her rally from Shyam Bazaar to Red Road in Kolkata, Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee paid homage to freedom fighter Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose on his birth anniversary and urged the Centre to declare January 23 as a national holiday.
Mamata Banerjee also said a monument, named after Azad Hind Fauj, will be built in Rajarhat area and a state-funded university, which is also being set up, will be dedicated to Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose.
The Centre has decided to observe January 23 as “Parakram Diwas” to commemorate the birth anniversary of Subhas Chandra Bose, who was born on this day in 1897.
Attacking the Centre over its decision to call the day ‘Parakram Diwas’, Mamata Banerjee said, “I don’t understand Parakram. He [Subhas Chandra Bose] was a desh premi…he was a desh nayak. He worked for all castes and communities. INA symbolised that.”
“Subhas Chandra Bose was a visionary. He founded National Planning Commission and it was disbanded. I want to ask why?! Netaji doesn’t need anyone’s favour. It’s ‘Desh Nayak Diwas’ because Rabindranath Thakur called him desh nayak,” Mamata Banerjee said.
After paying tribute to Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose at Shyam Bazaar, Mamata Banerjee said she was sad that “we know his birth anniversary, not death day.”
